Nigel John Hall passed away suddenly at his home in Alix, Alberta on September 29, 2019 at the age of 74 years.
Nigel was a true gentleman whose unconditional kindness, generosity, and gentle nature made him a friend to all. Nigel possessed unwavering patience and a genuine interest in others; qualities which earned him the title of “Favourite Grandpa” and the love and admiration of his children. He gave of himself in many roles; as a partner, parent, grandparent, great-grandparent, friend, and caregiver. Nigel was dynamic and energetic, often outpacing younger adults in various activities, including tree climbing. He shared a passion for antiquing with his beloved wife, Tena, and owned several antique stores during their time together.
Nigel was sadly predeceased by his grandson, Avery Julien Thomas Hall in 2013. He is survived by his wife of nineteen years, Tena; special brother in-law, Wilbert; son, Jonathan Hall and grandson, Gavin; daughters, Melanie Ellert Hall (Randy Johnson), and Joanna (Dave) McQueen and grandchildren Andrew, Zackery, and Abbie Dobson; stepsons, Adam Coulter and Andrew (Candice) Bevan and grandchildren Connor, Quinn, and Spencer Bevan; stepdaughters Chantel Bevan (Tyler Lafee) and Candise (Michael) Dwyer and grandsons Anissa and Ethen Dwyer.
Nigel’s innumerate stories, vast wisdom, and positive nature will be greatly missed by us all.
A Funeral Service to celebrate Nigel's life will be held at the Alix Community Hall at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, October 7, 2019. The Interment Service will be held at the Cavell Cemetery (south of Chipman) at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 8, 2019.
Memorial donations are gratefully accepted to the Alberta Heart and Stroke Foundation.
