Nelson Mauricio Quinteros
Nelson was born on November 21, 1958 in San Salvador, El Salvador. He came to the U.S.A. in 1978, then settled in Canada with his wife, Ana Quinteros in 1985. Nelson and Ana were married in 1984 in Houston, Texas. In 1985 they moved to Regina, Saskatchewan, before settling in Wetaskiwin in 1986.
Nelson was a caregiver for 25 years within the community of Wetaskiwin.
In his spare time, he enjoyed spending time with his family, yearly camping trips, weekends at West Edmonton Waterpark, hunting with his closest friends, raising his beloved pitbulls, cooking and driving fast with his loud music down main street.
His other passion was coaching soccer in the community, and taking the team to Provincials yearly and winning gold - earning his nickname “Coach”!
Nelson passed away peacefully and is survived by his mother, Carmen; wife, Ana; children, Joanna, Roxanna (Kevin), Karla (Tim); grandchildren, Karmella, Miguel, Valentina and Marqos; his siblings, Mario, Moncho, Elba, Silvia, Ana, and Connie, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Dad will be remembered for his willingness to always help anyone in need, with no questions asked. His kind and friendly nature, along with his huge heart, have made him well known in our community.
Our family wishes to thank the Acosta Family for their lifelong bond and love for our family that goes deeper than blood. In honour of Nelson’s memory, in lieu of flowers, donations are gratefully accepted to his beloved wife, Ana Quinteros.
