WILMOT, MARIE ELIZABETH (nee Drysdale)

1931-2019

Marie Elizabeth Wilmot passed away in Wetaskiwin on December 28, 2019 at the age of 88 years. Loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Marie was born September 22, 1931 prematurely at 1 and ½ pounds to Selina and Stephen Drysdale, two loving and deaf parents at Goodwood in the county of Halifax, Nova Scotia. She was employed by the Provincial Goverment of Nova Scotia for 13 years. Marie married William Wilmot on September 30, 1961 and was a navy wife for 15 years in Halifax and Victoria. She also resided in Wetaskiwin since 1978. Marie is remembered by her sons, Stephen, William (Jennifer); daughters, Selina (Kevin) Lonsdale, Anna (Mark) Johnson, grandchildren, Alisha (Kevin) Resendes, Melissa Lariviere, Stephanie Wilmot, Andrew (Megan) Lonsdale, Tynan, Cian, and Caidan Johnson, Libbey, Edison and Finley Wilmot; Great-grandchildren, Weston, Blake, Alexis, Maddox and Reese.

Marie was predeceased by an infant brother, Stephen Drysdale in 1933, her father Stephen in 1946, her mother Selina in 1968 and her husband, William in 2000. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, (5113 49 Ave. Wetaskiwin) with burial to follow.
