John Grizell

John was born in Holland in December of 1929 and grew up in the country.  In 1948 John met Anne in Holland, they fell in love, and married in 1953 for the government, and then again in 1954 for the church.  John and Anne had a son in May of 1955.  In 1958 John and his family took the boat and moved to Canada.  During this time John worked at Norwood Foundry for 35 years.  They had a son in March of 1964, another son in February of 1966, and a daughter in 1973.  He then retired and moved to Ponoka.  John enjoyed life at home, making a beautiful yard, and travelling to Arizona for winters for more than 16 years.  John had many amazing adventures, love, and happiness throughout his life.

John will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his wife Anne; four children Henry (Judy), Richard (Renee), Micheal (Sherry), and Linda (Jim); fifteen grandchildren Joanne, Vicki (Adam), Betty (Devon), Robby (Kelsey), Roxanne, Corey, Tessa, Alora, Baley, Micky, Clayton (Katelynn), Leilay (Ryan), Sophia, Jacob, and Abbygail; eight great-grandchildren Auston, Breanna, Nickola, Jaydin, Donte, Zahara, Raiza, and Grayson; as well as many other relatives and friends.

A Funeral Service will be held at the Ponoka Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, April 20, 2018.
