Janet Marie (Jensen) Barnes

On March 22, 2018 Janet Barnes of Penhold passed away in the Red Deer Hospice at the age of 59 years. Janet was born on July 1, 1958 in Ponoka. Janet learned Romans 3:23 and realized at age 7 she was a sinner who needed the forgiveness only Jesus can give. She asked Jesus to forgive her and to be her Saviour. Janet took her elementary school in Ponoka; completed junior high at Sylvan Heights and graduated from Ponoka High School.

She will lovingly be remembered by her husband Mike; son Matt (Katrina) Barnes; brother Carl (Carol) Jensen and family; sister Lynda (Bill) Turner and family; sisters-in-law Barbara (Glen) Cornell and Linda Barnes; as well as many other relatives and friends.

Janet was predeceased by her parents Oswald in 1972 and Leaolla Jensen in 1959 and her parents-in-law Ernest and Evelyn Barnes; brothers-in-law Kerry Barnes and Eric Barnes and his wife Joan. A Funeral Service to celebrate Janet’s life was held at the Church of the Open Bible in Ponoka at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 3, 2018.
