Sorry so late sending my and my sisters sympathy on the passing of your Dad. Our late father George had many interesting visits with Jim as was a first cousin but several years older. When living in Amisk AB , during the 60 's, we enjoyed a visit from your entire family. Cousin Jean also sends condolences as just heard of his passing. Our fathers have been gone for many years but we remember the pain of losing them. Keep the memories.

We were so sad to hear of Uncle Jim's passing. He was a truly nice man, a real gentleman. The nicest McKenzie I knew, either Mc or Mac. We looked forward to seeing him at the reunion's, his laugh alone made the trips worthwhile. Sorry We cannot attend but Tim's health prevents that right now. Our condolences to his Children, Grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends, My fondest memory will be sitting under the trees at Castle Douglas, beside the grain field, talking with Jim about how it looked just like Saskatchewan.

To the MacKenzie Family, your dad was a wonderful man and we are all truly going to miss him. My prayers and thoughts are with you and yours at this time of sadness. Your whole family were a part of my life also, as all of us grew up together in Mirror, almost like a little family in itself. Dear Heather and I were in the same grade, there were many of us that grew up with closeness. It is sad how life can be, you have had a few hardships to bare for sure. You dad always had a big smile and always seemed happy, that is what I'll remember the most. Good singer was I remember him in church. God Bless you all at this time. Cheryl Bennett Carr & Mike xx

Our hearts go out to the family on the loss of this great man. When I lost my father he (and Walter Kittler) was/were a great comfort to me and we continued our friendship after that. It was such a joy to go downtown and run into Jim and listen to his tales of the trains among other things. You just couldn't help but go on about your day with a smile on your face.
"They just don't make 'em like that any more!"
