On October 6th, 2017, our cherished mother, Helen Cornelius passed away at the Wetaskiwin Extended Care at the age of 102. Although Helen was born in Kellogg, Idaho, she spent most of her life in Hughenden, Alberta, where she and her husband Daniel operated a grocery and general store. Later, they moved to Wetaskiwin and have been residing there ever since. Helen leaves to mourn her daughters, Donna Standcumbe, Judy (Raymond); her son, Ron (Sharon); sister, Millie Sandhal; as well as eight grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren. Helen was predeceased by her sister, Irene Knutson (1965); husband, Daniel (1999); and her son-in-law, David Standcumbe (2015). Helen will be lovingly remembered for her gentle, loving and giving spirit and her love for the Lord.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 13, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Baker Funeral Chapel. Her family would like to send a special thank you to the staff at Long Term Care in Wetaskiwin for the care and compassion they showed to her in her final years. Memorial donations in memory of Helen can be made to the Wetaskiwin Health Foundation.
