Harry Gregory Pawliw

It is with deepest sadness that we say goodbye to our beloved husband, cherished father, grandfather, and uncle, Harry Pawliw of Wetaskiwin on January 2, 2019. At the age of 91, Harry passed peacefully, surrounded by his family.

He will forever be remembered and missed by his loving wife, Jenny of 64 years; daughters, Tina (Marv) Prokop of Edmonton, Teresa Pawliw of Edmonton, Donna Pawliw of Edmonton; sister in law, Helene Olejnik of Edmonton; granddaughter, Melissa (Sammy) Hauck of Edmonton; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

He was pre-deceased by his parents, Nick and Justyna; sister, Anne; and brothers, Peter and Johnny.

Harry spent his 34-year career with Northwestern Utilities and then enjoyed retirement with hobbies that included golf, pool, gardening, reading and meeting for coffee with his buddies. He will be remembered as a kind and generous person and devoted family man.

Thank you to Dr Kirwan and nursing staff at the Wetaskiwin Hospital. We would also like to express our thanks to the nurses, staff and physicians on Stations 51 and 43 at the Grey Nuns Hospital, especially Dr Chatterjee, Dr. Murji and Dr Tran.

A Funeral Mass will take place at Sacred Heart Catholic Church (5113 49 Avenue), Wetaskiwin on Friday, January 11, 2019 at 2 p.m. In lieu of floral tributes, donations are gratefully accepted in Harry’s name to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
