Harold Joseph Kijewski was born on August 29, 1940 in Wetaskiwin, Alberta and passed away on November 14, 2019 at the age of 79 years after struggling with health issues. Harold was the youngest of 10 children of Mathew and Helena Kijewski, the only child born in the hospital instead of at home. He enjoyed playing baseball, playing guitar and singing in his younger days. Harold farmed for most of his life, milking cows by hand and growing crops. He married his sweetheart, Doreen Stone and they built a life near Westerose, Alberta. Harold enjoyed telling jokes, some were even good, often with a dose of sarcasm. Harold taught his kids honesty, the value of hard work, compassion for the less fortunate, and generosity.
Harold is lovingly remembered by his brothers, Ted (Darlene), Henry (Lynn), and his sister, Marion Beaver; sisters-in-law, Gloria and Fern; children, Kelly (Donna), Patricia (Will) Wheatley, Kerry (Angela), and Lee (Gina), and former son-in-law, Rick Wheatley; grandchildren, Anissa, Matthew (Christie), Meagan, Joshua (Sandrelle), Blake, Eowyn, Rand, Zane, and Jasper; and great-grandson, Reuben; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and many friends.
Harold is predeceased by his wife, Doreen; brothers, Cecil, Stan and Joseph; sisters, Stella Bigelow, Anne Cross, and Irene Ness; brothers-in-law, Sid Bigelow, Don Ness, Bob Beaver, and Ralph Cross.
