Evelyn Stevens
Evelyn Carrie Stevens went to be with her Lord on November 22, 2018 at 87 years old.
She was born, March 7, 1931 to Hermanus and Annetje Van den Brink of the Pipestone area. In 1952 she married Hugh Stevens. Together they farmed and raised their children in the Brightview area. After moving to Wetaskiwin in 1985 she worked at the Wetaskiwin Hospital until retiring.
Evelyn enjoyed gardening, hosting missionaries, knitting (especially for her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and the Hospital Foundation), and working with Faith Bible Camp and her church family.
Evelyn is survived by her children, Wesley (Natalie), Ronald (Marlene), Anne Wiebe (Henry), Stanley; grandchildren, Matthew, Benjamin (Paula), Lisa, Trevor (Emily), Ian (Chelsea), Andrea Gall (John), Joel Wiebe (Elaine), Richard, and 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Mona Hansen (Ray); sister-in-law, Sharon Gair (Bruce); brothers-in-law, Art Kakoske, Neil Stevens and Donald Gibson.
Evelyn was predeceased by her husband, Hugh; sister, Nies Kakoske; brother, Maurice Van den Brink; sisters-in-law, Betty (Clyde) Dinwoodie, Jean (Ray Cross) Gibson and Marg Stevens.
Her family would like to acknowledge: her church family - Calvary Baptist Church - for their care, her many health care providers for their excellent service, the residents and staff of Madyson Manor, and many family and friends for their kindness in her last days. Thank You All!
There will be a family interment previous to the service.
Funeral Service: Calvary Baptist Church, 4710 Norhtmount Drive, Wetaskiwin at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 with a lunch to follow.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Gideons International, Faith Bible Camp, or Wetaskiwin Health Foundation.
