On November 14, 2018 Elmer Bailer of Wetaskiwin passed away at the age of 87 years.
Elmer is survived by his loving family; wife of 62 years, Della; children, Deb Gobin and Warren (Lori) Bailer; grandchildren, Lindsay, Chad (Stacey) and Mark Bailer, Wade, Shereen (Mark) and Jenelle Gobin; sisters, Doris Jacobi, Irene (Al) Boomer, Marion (Jack) Smale and Jeneline Moan; brothers, Clarence (Yvonne) and Melvin (Fiona); sisters-in-law, Darlene and Sharal as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and many friends and neighbors.
Elmer was predeceased by his parents, John and Wanda; sister, Leona Feldberg and brothers, Harvey and Leonard.
Elmer was born and raised in Wetaskiwin and attended the Pleasant Prairie School. He started farming at an early age on the family farm and continued active farming until 2015. Elmer married Della Wesenberg on June 27, 1956 and they were blessed with two children, Deb and Warren.
Elmer enjoyed playing baseball with the Brightview Huskies and was inducted into the Wetaskiwin Sports Hall of Fame in 2007. He also enjoyed fishing, birdwatching while doing his word search books, and spending time with his family.
Funeral Service: Baker Funeral Chapel in Wetaskiwin on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Fred Schneider officiating. Interment followed at the Wetaskiwin Memorial Cemetery.
