December 10, 1933 ~ November 14, 2017 (age 83) 83 Years Old

Elden "Joe" Arthur Brittain
December 10, 1933 - November 14, 2017

Elden Arthur Brittain was born December 10, 1933, as the fifth child to Roland and Luella Brittain from Delburne, Alberta.  He was predeceased by his parents and three brothers, Alister, Earnest and Bernard.  He is survived by his siblings, Muriel, Clarence, Verna (Stan), Larry (Barb), Gerald (Sharron), and Gale (Cheryl).  He is also survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Noreen (nee Klein).  Three sons were born from this love- Kelly (Colleen), Kerry (Bonnie), Dale (Sandy) and they all live in the Falun area where they were raised.  He has seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Joe, as he was nicknamed, quit the Oil Rigs in 1964 and bought half share into a milk truck.  Many locals remember the legend of Joe and his “3 can stack” which was occasionally having to stack the milk cans three decks high.  This was a pretty amazing accomplishment for a man that was only 5 feet 6 inches! In 1967 he bought the farm at Falun from Noreen’s parents, Mike and Wena Klein.  In 1994 he sold the milk truck business to Dale and his gravel truck to Kerry.  Even though he sold the farm in 1996 to Kelly, he continued to help on the farm until he was no longer able to.  He passed away November 14, 2017 surrounded by his family.

A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, November 20, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Baker Funeral Chapel.  Donations in Joe’s memory are gratefully accepted to S.T.A.R.S. or to P.L.A.C.E (Box 17, Falun, AB T0C 1H0).
