Delvin Berg Obituary

Delvin was born to Lillian Davis on January 6, 1930 and given the name Douglas. He was lovingly chosen on May 29, 1930 by Lydia and Jacob Berg and legally adopted on February 11, 1931 and given the name Delvin James Berg.

Delvin pursued a lifelong quest to find his birth mother but always expressed gratitude for having been raised by such a wonderful, loving family who gave him his love for the land, in particular the Peace River country. His love of the land brought him to a homestead, where he lived, married Rose Ebner and raised his 4 children until 1967. He and Rose then chose to move their family to the Lacombe area, in the interest of their children’s education.

Delvin will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 65 years, Rose; daughters Sherilyn (Wally) and Brenda, and son Gerald (Kellie). He had 8 grandchildren: Stephanie, Michael, Jackie, Bradley, Lindsey, Jamie, Jason and Rochelle and 9 great-grandchildren. Also 2 sisters, Bernadine (Ed) and Donna and brother Kelly (Elaine).

Delvin was predeceased by his parents Lydia and Jacob, 1 brother Orville, and 2 sisters Goldie and Viola, his son Brian, and great-grandson Bear.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, November 9, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at the Ponoka Funeral Home.

Donations in Delvin’s name are gratefully accepted to A Better World or ADRA Canada.
