Betty Gladstone Richer
Feb.11,1930-May 18, 2019
Our family chain was broken when the Lord called Betty home. Betty was born in St. Andrews, Scotland, the youngest of six children. She immigrated to Canada in 1950 where she married and started her family of two girls and two boys. After having moved to various cities, she settled in Wetaskiwin and worked at the Wetaskiwin General Hospital. Betty married Serge Richer in 1980 and relocated to Ardrossan where they raised and trained dogs, rabbits, and a few farm animals. She loved all animals, maintained beautiful flower beds, knitted precious items for family and friends and always enjoyed baking. Being Scottish, she loved anything to do with her homeland and travelled back there often. "Have a cuppa tea" was heard by anyone entering her home and was always served with baked goodies and great conversation. Family was her pride and joy. She was always there to provide her love, comfort, advice, baking and numerous hugs. Betty will be dearly missed by her daughter, Sheana; sons, Sandy (Marlene), and Colin; four granddaughters, seven great grandchildren and three great great granddaughters as well as numerous family members in Scotland. She was predeceased by her husband, Serge; daughter, Sheila; two great grandsons, one great great grandson, her parents and all her siblings in Scotland. Honouring Betty's wishes, a service and burial has taken place. In memory of Betty please share "a cuppa tea " with your family and friends.
