November 20, 1934 – July 18, 2019

It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Benjamin Grohn on July 18, 2019 after a brief illness. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Deanna; son, Robert (Marianne) Grohn and grandchildren, Evan, Brennon, and Erica; daughter, Wendy (Mark) Maltais and grandchildren, Claire and Michael; daughter, Shelly (Ray) McCubbing and grandchildren, Lauren, Cady, Macy, and Jack; siblings, Erna Stilet, Arnold (Linda) Grohn, Alfred (Elaine) Gunsch, and Harvey (Ronda) Gunsch; and, sister-in-law, Herta Grohn. Ben was predeceased by baby sister, Doreen; father, Robert; mother, Ruth; nephew, Roy; step-father, Ferdinand; and brother, Erich.

Funeral service Wednesday, July 24 at 2:00 p.m. at Grace Lutheran Church, 4218-56 Ave., Wetaskiwin. For those who wish to join the family, interment service will be held prior to the memorial at 11:00 a.m., Morrowdale Cemetery, Thorsby, Alberta.

The family expresses their most sincere and heartfelt thanks to Dr. Tam and the nursing staff in Unit 35 at the Wetaskiwin Hospital and Care Centre. Donations in memory of Ben can be made to Grace Lutheran Church, Mulhurst Lutheran Camp, or a charity of one’s choice.
