It is with heavy hearts that we announce Alysha Cornellia Makris, known as Vanessa Victoria Hope Wicklund, passed away suddenly in Calgary, AB on Monday, March 12, 2018 at the young age of 21.
Alysha is survived by her mother, Amanda & Aaron Wicklund of Warburg AB; father, Dino Makris of Wetaskiwin, AB; son, Ryder Beach of Didsbury AB; Tim, Yvette, Jesse, Chris and Alycia Beach of Didsbury AB; brothers, Marcus Feldberg of Leduc AB and Spencer Wicklund of Warburg AB; grandparents, Lenore Feldberg of Warburg AB, Leona Wicklund of Wetaskiwin AB, and Nancy Makris of Wetaskiwin AB as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and loved ones. Alysha was predeceased by her grandfathers, Wilfred Wicklund and Angelo Makris.
Alysha was born on May 1, 1996 in Edmonton AB. She attended school at Wetaskiwin Composite High School and Warburg School. 
Since Alysha was born, she has overcome many obstacles and challenges associated with Klippel Trenaunay Webber Syndrome (KTW), spending much time in hospitals in Wetaskiwin, Edmonton, Calgary and Didsbury. But Alysha also had a fight in her to overcome these challenges with perseverance. Alysha was devoted to her family and friends, loved animals and always up for a new adventure. Her legacy will be she was one of a kind and her strength and huge heart imprinted on all who knew her.
On January 29, 2016, Alysha gave birth to her son, her pride and joy, Ryder Jordan Boyd Beach. The challenges for Alysha affected by KTW to be able to successfully give birth was a miracle. Alysha went through many struggles and challenges but because of her strength and fight, Ryder came into this world with the same fight. Ryder was and will always be her pride and joy. 
Celebration of Alysha's life will be held at Baker Funeral Chapel, 5302-50 Avenue, Wetaskiwin on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. Reception to follow at By the Lake Park Hall on 56th Avenue, Wetaskiwin.
