Wilfred "Wil" Irvin Warnke was born in Olds, Alberta on March 4, 1957. At an early age, Wil loved to play hockey and his greatest childhood memory was winning provincials with his team. This love of hockey continued throughout his life and he became a devoted Edmonton Oilers fan. He grew up in Millet, Alberta, attended Millet Grade School and graduated from the Wetaskiwin Composite High School. Wil then worked and resided in Central Alberta, mainly Wetaskiwin for the past 40 years. Wil passed away on August 18, 2015 at the Wetaskiwin Hospital.
Wil is survived by his sisters, Carolyn (David; daughter Julie and her husband, Colin and their two children) Maplethorpe, Doris Dombowski, Florence (Gary) Radwanski, Nancy (Dale; son Brandon) Pocha; youngest brother, Norman (Cindy; children, Justin and Amy) Warnke.
Wil was predeceased by his parents, Reinhold & Anna Warnke; brother, Larry and sister, Vera.
