Oriole Margaret Baker-Wilson was born on April 26, 1916, in Wetaskiwin, where she lived for her entire life.  On August 21, she passed away at the age of 99 from pneumonia. Oriole is survived by her daughter, Lloy (Russell) Keeling of Redlands, California; grandchildren, Michelle Reynolds of Portland, Oregon, Kathleen Keeling of Portland, Oregon, Gregory (Susan) Keeling of Newport Beach, California; great-granddaughter, Christina Keeling; sister-in-law Jean Baker; nephews, Bradley (Grace) Baker, David (Carolyn) Baker; niece, Brenda (Curtis) Nelson; special niece and faithful caregiver Lorrilyn (Garry) Forth, as well as numerous great-nieces and nephews. Her husband, Lloyd, predeceased her in 1992.
A lifelong member of the First United Church of Wetaskiwin, Oriole was a very active member until mobility and health issues precluded her faithful attendance. In past years, Oriole participated in the Royal Purple Lodge, Knitting Clubs, United Church Women, and a Bridge Club that she continued to participate in until very recently.  Oriole was recently honoured by being named “Pioneer Woman of the Year”.   An incredible ability for remembering dates and details enabled her to be a very helpful resource for the Wetaskiwin Historical Museum. After Lloyd’s retirement, they travelled extensively, including a round-the-world trip and many excursions in their travel trailer.  
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2015 at 11:00 a.m., at the First United Church (5115 51 Avenue, Wetaskiwin). In lieu of flowers, donations are gratefully accepted to the Wetaskiwin Health Foundation (6910 47 Street, Wetaskiwin, Alberta, T9A 9Z9) or the First United Church Memorial Fund (5115 51 Avenue, Wetaskiwin, Alberta, T9A 0V3).
