With heavy hearts but profound thanksgiving for the life of our dear mother and grandmother, we announce that Maxine was called home by her Lord and Saviour surrounded by the immeasurable love of her family. She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her children, Garth (Marilyn) - Leduc, AB, Shelly (Pastor Kevin) Ree - Barrhead, AB, Mark (Lori) - Edmonton, AB; six grandchildren, Miranda Lucht (Tyler), Travis Lucht, Megan Lucht, Anna Ree, Marta Ree, Jacob Ree; dear friend, Harold Sorensen; beloved sisters, Connie Warner - Edmonton, AB, Marcie (Otto) Weger - Langley, B.C.; foster brother, Larry (Lynn) Robinson - Edmonton, AB; sister-in-laws, Monique Johnston - Ottawa, ON, Linda Johnston - Edmonton, AB ,as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Maxine was predeceased by her husband, Rev. Alfred Lucht; brothers, Melvin Johnston, Dennis Johnston, and parents, Albert & Margaret Johnston. Maxine was born in Wilkie, Saskatchewan. She married Reverend Alfred Lucht in 1957 which launched her into the life a pastor’s wife, living in the parish, which she enjoyed immensely. She was known for her fierce love and pride for her children and grandchildren, her love and care of people, and the joy she brought to those she cared for, particularly with her nursing work at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Wetaskiwin, AB.
A Funeral Service will be held at Zion Lutheran Church (5417 40 Avenue, Wetaskiwin, AB) on Tuesday,  September 20, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Fred Albert officiating.  Interment will follow at the Wetaskiwin Memorial Cemetery.
Donations are gratefully accepted to the Good Shepherd Lutheran Home (4702 Northmount Drive, Wetaskiwin, AB, T9A 3T3).
