Mabel was born on November 27, 1921 in Limerick, Saskatchewan, and passed away on March 8, 2017 in Wetaskiwin, Alberta at the age of 95 years. She is survived by her loving family; children, Adrian (Meryl), Marvin (Sonja), Linda; grandchildren, Christopher, Karina, Daniella, Alexandra; great granddaughter, Avaline; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband, Kassian Hlynka; parents, David Nelson and Mary McLeod; siblings, Wally, Gordon, Edith, Dorathea and Margaret. Mabel worked as a Registered Nurse for many years. She had a love for horses and all animals in general, and had a strong passion for poetry. Mabel was always willing to help others, and will be dearly missed. “The rest is silence.” - Shakespeare
Interment will take place Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at 12:30 p.m. at the Wetaskiwin Memorial Cemetery. A memorial service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Baker Funeral Chapel. Donations are gratefully accepted to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
