It is with heavy hearts we announce that our beloved mother, grandmother and great Grandmother, Jessie Clemence Louise Florence passed peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, January 10, 2017. She was born on November 15, 1910 to Parents John Wilson Baragar and Elizabeth Vashti Barager (nee Graham). Jessie recently celebrated her 106 Birthday and was the oldest living person in Wetaskiwin. She loved and was loved by everyone who knew her. She lived through two world wars, went to school on horseback, saw a man land on the moon and saw more change in the world than most would have ever dreamed possible.
Jessie is survived by her loving children, Doug (Connie) Florence of Australia, Sharon (Bob) Doucette of New Brunswick, Heather (Raymond) Zenius of Ontario and Susan Florence of Alberta; grandchildren, Mike (Dannete) Doucette, Heather (Kevin) Mills, Jeremy (Audra) Dahms, Charles (Kim) Zenius, Stephen Zenius and Arthur (Melissa) Florence; great grandchildren, Landin, Ashton and Bryce Mills, Breanna Doucette, Glen and Jacob Dahms, Sebastian and Trinity Florence and Naomi Zenius; and numerous nieces and nephews. Jessie was pre-deceased by her son, Donald Graham Florence; and husband, Harold Percy Florence.
In a closed ceremony the family will celebrate her life on January 21, 2017. In lieu of flowers and if you so desire, donations can be made to her favourite charities: The Heart and Stroke Foundation and/or the Cancer Society.
