Ida Fanny Ann (Wing) Campbell

Ida Fanny Ann Campbell, of Ponoka Alberta, passed away on Sunday, November 19, 2017 at theRed Deer Regional Hospital. She was born to the late James Harry Wing and Myrtle Skoye Wing on October 29, 1942 in Dorenlee, Alberta. 

Ida was very dedicated to her work and family. Being a single parent for most of her life, she knew the importance of making a hard earned dollar to put food on the table and clothes on her back. She was so dedicated, that she never took time off work, and never had a sick day in all her years of service at AHP (Ponoka Centennial Centre.) She was seventy five years of age and never even owned a drivers license, so her only means of getting to work and back, was by foot or hitching a ride by a caring co-worker. However, she always took the liberty of using her children's young legs for all the unimportant errands. 

Family and friends were moms passion and delight. She loved spending time with them playing cards, dice, crib and numerous other games till all hours of the night. She made sure everyone had enough coffee and snacks to keep them going long enough to play another game, and another, and another and so on. She wouldn't quit until the last guest was ready to turn it in, and sometimes that could be till wee hours in the morning. 

Ida is survived by her two brothers Jim (Karen) Wing of Ponoka and Donald Wing of Bashaw; her loving children Robert (Debbie) Campbell, Sheila (Fin) Lloyd, Catherine (Brent) Shewchuk, and Shauna (Dan) Stubenvoll; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind numerous relatives and friends. 

A Funeral Service will be held at the Ponoka Funeral Home at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, November 24, 2017. Ida requested a private burial.
