Gladys Ardelia (Snyder) Miller

Gladys Miller will be loving remembered by her husband Don; her sister Sarah Jane “Sally” Garthwaite; her children Susan Miller, Timothy Miller (Mariann), Christine Kloosterman (Bryan), and Gerald Miller (Carla); 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; as well as many other relatives and friends. Gladys is predeceased by her parents, Porter and Hazel Snyder, brothers Franklin and Eugene, son Don, and granddaughter Brittney.  Gladys Miller was born in Dubois Pennsylvania on Dec. 6, 1927. She remembered her family as poor but loving. As a teenager she was saved and baptized in the Dubois Baptist Church. After high school went to New York city where she met her husband of 66 years, Donald Miller. Gladys and Don lived in various places in the United States before moving with her husband to Canada in 1957. In Canada she lived in Port Alberni, Dawson Creek, and most recently in Ponoka Alberta. Gladys devoted her life to being a mother, Pastor’s wife, and several years as a secretary at Alberta Hospital Ponoka. After retirement she enjoyed their acreage, time with family, visits back and forth with her sister Sally, and trips to the mountains and Alaska with Don. When asked years ago what she wanted her legacy to be her response was; “To live daily for Christ, showing His love at home, work and at play.” Mission accomplished Mom, well done! Now she is present with her Lord and Saviour. Till we meet again.  Special thanks to the management and staff at Northcott, Seasons (Sunrise), Ponoka General Hospital, and Dr. Halse for the love and care she received over these past years. A funeral service was held at the Ponoka Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 19, 2018. The internment service was held at Mount Lehmann Cemetery in Abbotsford, BC on Jan. 22, 2018.
