Florence Duke

Florence Edith Duke was born on April 10, 1929 in Clive , Alberta to parents Helen and Earl Barnes and passed away on July 12, 2016 in Ponoka, Alberta at the age of 87 years. Florence will be lovingly remembered by her son Lyle Duke (Tita) and her daughter Carol Duke (Dolney Neal); her granddaughter Sherri Herman (Kelly), their daughter Amber, and their son Brandon (Abigail Bouzane) and their children Maddox and Ana; her granddaughter Tammy Duke-Gauthier (Marc Gauthier) and their children Kaylen and Cody; her grandson Sheldon Duke (Michelle) and their children Faith and Sieanna Lou; and her grandson Joseph Duke; as well as many brothers and sisters. Florence was predeceased by her husband Leslie and her great-granddaughter Brianna Herman.

This past year has been challenging with her care and without the following persons it would have been impossible to allow her to remain in the comfort of her home. We would like to express our sincere and heartfelt gratitude to her caregivers Jenny Guevara, Des, Lourdes Baylon and Alex Regilme and "Little Buddy" Alexander Louise Regilme, as well as many close friends that shared many cigarettes, personal conversations and where a pot of coffee was always shared. Also, a special thanks for Maria Fernando who was their nanny. Let us not forget Dolly who brought such joy to her life and cuddled close every night.
