Donald Edward Trenerry

Don passed peacefully on the freezing, bright morning of January 11, 2017, surrounded by his family at Rosedale Hospice in Calgary. He is deeply missed by his wife of 50 years, Colleen; his daughter, Kathryn Trenerry-Harker (Stuart Harker); his son Chris Trenerry (Jennifer); and his beloved grandchildren Georgia and Charlie Harker, and Faith and Ben Trenerry. He is survived by his siblings Wilfred Trenerry (Irene); Betty Cook; and Joan Swainson (Greg). He was predeceased by his parents, George and Reta Trenerry of Ponoka. Don’s love and genuine delight with his family, especially his grandkids, cannot be overstated. His family was always his number one priority. For the past 16 years, he exercised his passion for finance by running his consulting business. Don deeply valued the strong friendships he developed with his many clients, all of whom will miss his wise counsel and humour. Don will also be missed by his long-time golfing buddies and the friends he and Colleen made at the Living with Cancer group at Sage Centre. Dealing with a diagnosis of terminal cancer is difficult, to put it mildly. Our family is profoundly grateful for the caring assistance provided to us over the past year by Hospice Calgary, the Sage Centre, and Rosedale Hospice. A celebration of Don’s life will be held at McInnis & Holloway Fish Creek, 14441 Bannister Rd. S.E., Calgary, Alberta on Monday, January 16, 2017 at 10 a.m. After a few words, friends and family are invited to visit, enjoy coffee and something sweet (Don’s favourite) and share their favourite memories of Don.
