Dave passed away suddenly on November26, 2016 near Millet, Alberta at the age of 25.
On the cold winter night of February 1, 1991, Dave Knapp blessed us with his presence in our lives. He couldn’t wait to arrive at the hospital, so he was born at home.
He was a happy and positive brother for Alan. Quite young, Dave and Alan found kindred spirits in Tim and Jon Lessing. They have shared a bond since.
Dave was named after his grandfather. Dave and his grandmother made an instant connection and it was cemented in stone until the time of her passing. They dreamed of market gardening in the future. Once grandma was not there to share his dreams, Dave turned his back on this part of his life and only recaptured it these last few years.
Dave shared automotive, mechanical and welding interests with Alan and his dad, Howard. Watching them interact, I often thought it was like watching Lego creations with real life vehicles and machines. Dave loved to create things.
Fishing was a favourite, quiet time experience for Dave. He enjoyed the outdoors, nature and spontaneous road trips, alone or with his friends.
Pastor Norm; Youth Pastors, Clayton, Dylan and Jason, taught Dave the love of Jesus and how to live a productive Christian Life. They set an example for him. Amy and the Mission Trip to Chicago changed him forever.
In 2003, he started working during his summer holidays. This continued until he reached High School. There he entered the RAP program and apprenticed auto body with Lorne Petrich. After various jobs, including one with Kevin Regehr, he started sandblasting for Wayne Vanouck. In January of this year, he found an apprentice position as a Heavy Duty Mechanic with Ken Karpowich.
Funeral Service: Friday, December 2, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Wiesenthal Baptist Church - 48175 Range Raod 253, Millet, Alberta.
