Carolyn Josephine Babcock

Our little girl, Carolyn Josephine Babcock was born Monday, December 11th, 2017 at the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Edmonton. At 22 1/2 weeks gestation, Momma had an emergency c-section and our little baby girl was delivered at 9:03 am, her birth weight was 407 grams. 

Following her birth, Carolyn was promptly moved to the Neo-Natal Intensive Care Unit at the hospital. There she received around the clock care from an amazing team of professionals. Carolyn had such a journey! An uphill battle from the very beginning. She was always encountering the complications of being born so very premature. And Carolyn displayed over and over again that she was a fighter. 

Unfortunately Carolyn’s complications rather than getting better, continued to get worse. And she left us late on January 7th, close to midnight. She was surrounded by her family during her last hours and we had the chance to hold her and comfort her. 

Carolyn’s life was filled with love and she brought us so much joy in such a short time. She had an entire lifetime wrapped up in the short 28 days she spent with us. We know now that she is at peace and not suffering anymore. Carolyn touched so many lives, and she will continue to be remembered long after her short time with us. 

Carolyn’s funeral will take place Saturday, January 20th at 2:00 p.m. It will be held at the Ponoka First Baptist Church, located at 5109-57 Avenue Ponoka, AB. There will be food provided following the service at that same location.
