MENZIES, Anthony Michael
April 27, 1953 - July 21, 2016
It is with much sadness that we say goodbye to a wonderful husband, father, grandpappy, uncle and friend to so many. Anthony Michael Menzies was born on April 27, 1953 in Calgary, Alberta and lost his courageous battle with cancer on July 21, 2016, at the age of 63. He will be greatly missed and forever remembered by his wife of 40 years, Sonia (nee Lypsky); daughter, Larissa (Kris) and their children, Ollie, Otto; daughter, Christy (Cam) and their child, Maddy; brother, Allan (Sandy); sisters in-law, Halya, Tusha (Mike); nephews and nieces, Natalie, Andrea, Brandy (Brad), Scot, Marc (Sue), and Danylo. Tony was predeceased by his parents,  Donald & Margaret and sister, Cheryl.
Tony was a man of many talents and skills. He followed in his father's footsteps in the theatre business and managed both the Cinema Park Drive In and Market Mall Cinemas. He got his commerce degree at the University of Calgary, then worked in the accounting field. Tony seized the opportunity to help on the grain and cattle family farm for many years, then returned to the business sector as a controller with Bartin Pipe and Threadco. Tony then bought a farm and cabin in the Pigeon Lake area and started his own business - Pigeon Lake Poultry Processing Ltd.
Looking back at his life, we can see how the love of his family, his passion for farming and his talent for management and business came together in the creation of the plant on his family farm. As a man whose family was his ultimate priority, and who made every decision with them in mind, he created them an Eden: A cabin on the lake where his family could play, a piece of land where his family could grow, and a business where his family could prosper.

A Celebration of Tony's Life will be held at a later date in Pigeon Lake.
