Alwin passed away peacefully at Stony Plain, Alberta at the age of 90.
He is survived by his loving children, Ruth Kuhlmann, Arnold Schmidt, Elke (Alan) Waterhouse; son-in-law, Phillip Deschene; grandchildren, Stacie (Jean-Yves) Monfette, Trevor Parkinson, Joshua Schmidt, Justin (Andrea) Schmidt, Adam Schmidt, Eileen (Shane) Van Hooydonk, Melony Shipley; great grandchildren, Alyssa Ovens, Teegan Monfette, Cassie Schmidt, Quinn Schmidt, Riley Schmidt, Chase Van Hooydonk as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Alwin was predeceased by his wife, Elsie; daughter, Karin Deschene; son, Dieter Schmidt; parents, Gustau & Julianna Schmidt as well as all of his brothers and sisters.
Funeral Service: Saturday, August 19, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Baker Funeral Chapel - 5302 50 Avenue, Wetaskiwin.
