Way back in the '80s—as a gawky and questioning teenager—Albert and I were paired to lead the music at Sacred Heart. It will be no surprise to hear that he was kind, thoughtful, encouraging, and treated me like a grown-up, guiding me through difficult passages and leading us all with joy and his bright sense of humour. Our Christmas eve masses together were something I looked forward to, including the laughter when our old organ would invariably blow a breaker, knocking off half of the lights in the old church and requiring a flurry of ushers to make right. I grew up and moved on, and happily bumped into him a few summers ago, catching up and introducing him to my partner, Mike. I think of Albert often, with fondness. To the family: may you be comforted in knowing that Albert's kindness stretched a great distance and touched many. I'm sorry for your loss.

Joanne and family,
I was very sorry to hear of you father's passing. He and my dad sang together in the Barbershoppers many years ago. My dad spoke very highly of him, and his rich singing voice. I accompanied him many years ago when he sang at Lee Bussards funeral....a great honour. I know you will miss him. Wishing you well.

It is with the deepest sadness that we say 'good-bye' to our family's dearest friend. Albert and his family have always been part of our family. We have laughed in the good times together, cried in the worst times, but we always did it together. Albert had zest for life. He will always be remembered.
Rest in peace Albert.

Uncle Albert, you always had the best stories and anecdotes. You remembered everyone's birthday and called them. You were always fun to be around and could outlast any other partygoer. You and Marie were a wonderful couple. I know she and your sisters as well as my parents were waiting for your arrival in heaven. I 'wub' you, Uncle Albert.

To the family - I had the pleasure of meeting Albert many years ago while I was working at the Royal Bank in Wetaskiwin. He was such a kind and generous man and always brought me a box of chocolates on my birthday (which just happened to be his as well!) We had many conversations in regards to his home town in Germany (which I had the pleasure to see when we were on our river cruise last fall). He also sang in the Bavarian band for which my husband has played tuba for. Always happy and a pleasure to serve -
He will definitely be missed.
